I am a lone software developer in my own office.

I do not store my passwords. I type them in every time I log in. It's the only way to remember passwords: type them in every time to reinforce memory.

I want to see my passwords when I type them. I don't want a click option to view them. I want to be able to see what I'm typing every time all the time.

I've been a contributor for a number of years. Please create an option to support my request.

If you need me to program the change, please let me know.  :-) I suspect that it is simply a matter of turning off a property on the entry field. This is my third request.

So I have gone through many of the suggested actions in removing an email account from Thunderbird. It keeps asking for a password for an email account I no longer use. It was a gmail account. I have removed calendar reminders. I have gone to the profiles. It is not listed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird. But Every time I open the program and several times while using. It asks me for the password. How do I remove this?

I use the quick filter option very often. I use this to filter my message list by sender I'm a bit "tired" of constantly copying the sender e-mail address -> then pasting it into the quick filter field.

I am looking for an option like "Quick filter by this sender" or something like that Does anyone know how i can achieve this?

Some years ago there was an excellent extension from trusted contributor alta8888 called TotalQuickFilter (https://bitbucket.org/alta8888/totalquickfilter/wiki/Home) but unfortunately it was discontinued

I have Thunderbird on another PC that shows the incoming emails with the contents with the contents displayed under the email list, yet on my new PC I cannot seem to get that setting. I have to double click an email and it opens a new tab. I have used your help and also YouTube to no avail.

'Unable to connect'!!!

It's been almost a week now, and my 2 Microsoft email accounts will not connect to Thunderbird anymore. All was fine for years, but something changed that I can't figure out!?! I have gone to my Microsoft email server and checked that my passwords still work. I even updated one and it works on Microsoft server but not Thunderbird's!?!? I even deleted one email account from Thunder bird to re-install it, but when I tried a fresh re-install Thunderbird still won't connect to Microsoft server??? I'm at my wits end, and may abandon Thunderbird completely if someone there doesn't help me connect!!!

When I try to open Thunderbird it keeps giving me a message that it is trying trouble install a new helper tool and asks for my password. I do so, hit the Install Helper button, and then nothing ever happens. I get a spinning beach ball and it never opens no long how I wait. I would be very grateful for any suggestions or advice on what to do.

I wish to move away from MS outlook. I have installed Thunderbird desktop email client to my Imac apple desk top computer. When I run the installation software and input my gmail account details the system responds with an error "Authentication error". can you please help me to reconfigure the set up to resolve this problem. Unable to log in at server. No matter what I try

I've been using Thunderbird for years at this point and it was fine, but then some time after the latest update I stopped getting new emails. I tried a bunch of random "solutions" I found on the internet and I don't remember exactly which one, but eventually I got the web portal to pop up, and it showed that I'm logged out of all my accounts (they all gmail, btw). Using this windows I was able to log back into one of them, but then it didn't popped up again to let me to log into others. For a day or so I was getting email from that one account I logged back into, but then again, suddenly, no new emails. I decided to just start over on a new profile and that's where things went from bad to worse. Now I can't even get past the initial logging process. It gives me "unable to log in at sever" over and over, no matter what I try. I tried a bunch of different config suggestions, I tried the old school way of getting a device password, I've checked if localhost was running something - it wasn't. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, installing an older esr version (I'm on Win10, thought maybe that has something to do with it) - same thing. Unable to log in at server. I can switch back to my old profile that doesn't get any emails anymore, I've backed it up, but what's the point. Kinda feeling screwed on all fronts here.

Also, whoever is replying to people on reddit with "thunderbird employee" badge, ghosted me after one message. Great support /sarcasm.

Version: latest (whatever auto updated updated to) and 140.8.1esr OS: win10. Mail provider: gmail.

I would have posted this on this previous question by the same name https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1266115 However it has been closed from further discussion despite being the top search google link for "thunderbird filter contains wildcard"

And what I wanted to say is that

This should long have been core functionality It is not even apparent when you make the filters, that wildcards (*) don't work So you make a ton of filters and they're silently broken !!!

I find the general filter creation process very cumbersome, almost almost every setting has to be changed every time, the main window, locks so you can't copy-paste from it mid-filter-creation and many many other quirks that make each filter creation an annoying 20 steps process, core among which, is the inability to create a destination folder on the fly while creating the filter !


But yeah, no wildcard support is kind of crazy

for example I want to put all emails from pizzahut in a folder

But they randomly change their From URL to @a.pizzahut.ca @b.pizzahut.ca @c.pizzahut.ca @d.pizzahut.ca @e.pizzahut.ca @f.pizzahut.ca

It's like they know the filters can't wildcard ! they is super annoying !!

Thunderbird won't download update even though it shows a new version available

I'm currently running Thunderbird 140.9.1esr and it shows an update available to version 140.10.0esr. However, when I click on the update button, it shows "downloading" b… (читать ещё)

I'm currently running Thunderbird 140.9.1esr and it shows an update available to version 140.10.0esr. However, when I click on the update button, it shows "downloading" but it stays at 0 bytes and will not download the update. All previous updates to my current version automatically downloaded and installed after I clicked on the update button. How do I fix this or is there a problem with 140.10.0esr? Thank you!

3 дня назад перестали приходить письма - вышла ошибка авторизации. Пароль точно верный (через браузер все работает) и работает Thunderbird на другом ПК. Снес мозиллу, касперского, пробую заново создать почту, не дает, смотрите скриншот 1. Потов выдает ошибку смотрите скриншот 2. Вообще не могу понять что не так! На другом ПК все работает. переносил профиль с другого ПК на свой все тоже самое - ошибка авторизации. Куки разрешены, в исключения gmail.com добавил в Thunderbird Куда копать, что искать?
