I can't seem to update to the latest version of Firefox.

Steps on macOS 15.2: 1. In previous version of Firefox, get dialog to update to current version of Firefox 2. Click Restart to update Firefox. 3. Enter admin user name and password to allow Firefox to install a helper 4. Got a request to let Firefox access my devices. My devices are not Firefox's business, so I replied Don't allow. Note: 3 and 4 may have been swapped.

Expected result: Get a dialog that Mozilla corp has installed something; Firefox relaunches with the new version

Actual result: Get a dialog that Mozilla corp has installed something

Attempted workaround:

5. Click Firefox icon in the dock

Expected result: Firefox launches

Actual result: Get dialog asking me to enter admin user name and password to allow Firefox to install a helper.

6. I do so.

Expected result: Get a dialog that Mozilla corp has installed something; Firefox relaunches with the new version

Actual result: Get a dialog that Mozilla corp has installed something

Attempted workaround:

7. Click Firefox icon in the dock

And I get a strange feeling of deja vu as the process repeats and I am unable to launch Firefox.

If I look at the macOS console and filter on Mozilla, I notice these two messages from org.mozilla.updater:

1. Server doesn't exist or doesn't provide correct selectors.
2. Failed to connect to update server after several retries.

I have no idea how to proceeed.

Hi people,

I have used Firefox for years but after the latest Microsoft Update it no longer starts or runs. Another product, Libre Office, also failed at the same time and I have been unable to resolve that problem either.

I have uninstalled Firefox, downloaded a fresh copy from the Mozilla website and reinstalled it a couple of times but when I click the desktop shortcut nothing happens. I can right click the shortcut and select the "run as administrator" command and something like the Firefox browser opens but all my shortcuts are out of date on it and the browser will not access anything on the net.

I also use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email providor and that is still functioning normally.

Is this some monkey business from Microsoft, a fault in Firefox or a fault somewhere in the inner workings of my computer?

i have windows 11 24HR with netgear rs700 nighthawk wifi 7 router and im still on wifi 6 when will firefox become windows 11 as im still on firefox windows 10 this coming months the new lg g5 tv is got wifi 7 connectivity and i think sony tv also thank you

Hey so I'm trying to sign in using my google account and it just sits there and loads, and won't ever actually sign in. No matter how long I wait its just stuck loading. Checked my internet, cleared my cache, restarted firefox and my Mac and none of those methods worked.

Firefox opens only to a blank page and does not function what so ever. I've tried several times refreshing it, however, nothing helps. Point of interest is Microsoft Edge won't open either and I am currently using Opera which is working fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In netzero message center, none of the buttons work. I'm stuck at "Home". When the cursor is over "Inbox", "Compose" or "Address Book", it changes to the hand, but clicking does nothing. I have the same Firefox setup on another computer, and everything works properly on it. I synced the new one to the working one and copied the settings from there. The only real difference is that the working one is Win10, this one is fresh Ubuntu.

Each time I download and install updates to Firefox, whatever they are correcting causes the application to not open. I need to delete the Firefox, download the file and reinstall it.

My laptop is a new HP with an Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 155H 1.40 GHz processor with 16.0 GB (15.4 GB usable) ram. It is a 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor. I am running Windows 11 currently.

Do not understand the problem. I have Firefox on my older laptop (over 10 years old) with a i3 processor and do not have these issues.

I have had to reinstall Firefox several time on the new machine and am frustrated with the problem.

Please have a good recommendation. I will refrain from updating Firefox.

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window. I click on close Firefox, it go es away but comes right back with the same message. How do I get Firefox back? I right click on the task bar and when the info comes up, Firefox is not there.

In the last couple weeks i've encountered an issue where video footage, but not the audio or the video progress itself, will freeze if I tab out of Firefox and into a game window.

Like shown in the video, It only seems to affect Firefox and not other browsers, and it only happens when I switch to a game window, not other tabs. It should also be noted that although the video only shows YouTube footage, this issue affects every player I've tested it on.

I've tried this both with and without extensions enabled, as well as just about every video player related config in the about:config page, and with both hardware acceleration on and off, still with no luck resolving the problem.

If anyone has had a similar issue and managed to fix it, help doing so for myself would be much appreciated.

This worked in a previous version. It seems to be a change to the UI

That is an example. Not the only example.

In order to select the text one needs to access the context menu (right mouse) and choose select all. A month ago I could just use CTL A, which when you are an average or better typist is faster than using a mouse.

Of course on some fields it works. The main duckduckgo page does allow me to use CTL-A, but on that page it is not useful.

Hi.

Very old/test system. centos6 - running ff ver78.3. really old, rarely used, for testing.

However, within the last few days, something has occurred that has removed the vertical up/down arrows in the browser window. The other test browsers -- chrome/sea-monkey have the up/down arrows for scrolling.

Looking through the about:config attributes, based on other past user posts haven't solved the issue.
