Use Help > About Firefox and hit the Check for Updates button (if it doesn't start the "check" as soon as that window opens). That feature will only contact the Mozilla update server and then deliver the update from an official mirror website. It is all done through secure connections, no chance of the update coming from an non-official mirror.
