Cannot save to a no proxy setting.

I cannot surf the internet using firefox because of the proxy. I need to change it every time I open the browser to enable me surf the internet using the browser. I changed it to no proxy in the proxy setting but it will automatically change to 'Manual proxy configuration' which would not enable me to surf the internet. This problem really piss me off as I need to do it every time. Please help me out.

I followed the instructions in the link posted above. It ended up that I had an add-on (FiddlerHook) that was interfering with my preferences. After I disabled this add-on, I didn't have this problem anymore.

FiddlerHook was the culprit for me as well. Opening Fiddler2 or disabling the add-on solved the problem.
