Inquiry regarding Firefox's timeline for XSLT deprecation and enterprise policy options

YONGHO JO

Hello,

We are operating an enterprise legacy system that heavily relies on XSLT 1.0 for its rich text editor and file upload modules.

As you may know, Chromium-based browsers are deprecating XSLT support on November 17, 2026. However, they provide an enterprise policy (XSLTEnabled) to temporarily allow its use until August 2027. We only need to maintain our legacy system until December 17, 2026, before migrating to a new integrated platform.

We are considering using Firefox as an alternative browser for our internal users during this period, but we need to clarify Firefox's roadmap regarding XSLT deprecation.

My questions are: 1. Target Date: Is there a specific target date or Firefox version planned for the complete removal of XSLT 1.0 support? 2. Enterprise Policy: If Firefox plans to remove XSLT before December 2026, will there be an Enterprise Policy provided to temporarily extend its functionality in a corporate environment (similar to Chrome's XSLTEnabled)?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hi, we want to remove it in all channels (except ESR 153) in August 2027. Deprecation is done through the pref “dom.xslt.enabled”. There's also a policy https://firefox-admin-docs.mozilla.org/reference/policies/xsltenabled/ . After August, the code base of XSLT and corresponding tests will be entirely purged.
