Do they have perhaps a location mentioned explicitly used for the search targeting, usually near the location searches if you go for something localized like "pizza" or "movies", or somewhere at the bottom of the page under results in the footer… that would say "using your location" or something alike, that you can click and either remove the preference, or specify the region that should be used with them?
