I tried toggling the firefox logo in settings but it doesn't do anything

Huh. Maybe just giving it a nudge… Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues has the steps to get to the support page with action buttons — I'd try "Clear startup cache…" from there to see if it has any impact.
