Why would Firefox remove the "ask where to save attachment" function

Why would the developers of Firefox remove the ability to select where an attachment can be saved?

This is like going back to the dark ages of web browsing.

I receive many attachments for my job, I don't want them all to save in the same location. It's a pain to have to retrieve them from my "Downloads" (or whatever) folder, to put them where they belong. This is not a small thing. It's a real pain to have everything go to the same location.

Other browsers allow you to choose where to save a particular file. I think Firefox used to allow that, too. Why would you change this?

I use Firefox for my work emails, but I think I will need to switch to another browser.

I support a number of people in my job. I have been recommending Firefox to use. That will stop now.

  3. In the General panel, scroll down to the Files and Applications section.
  4. Make sure Always ask you where to save files is checked.
