I refuse, for a considerable number of reasons. And I'm concerned and dismayed that Mozilla's new leadership is intent on doing so.

I've been an avid user of Mozilla products for years... but posting this is the last time I will be using Firefox before uninstalling it to swap to Vivaldi, whose CEO Jon von Tetzchner has publicly stated their commitment to, as they put it, "humans over hype".

I am utterly fed up with having unwanted AI "features" crammed unavoidably into every corner of my online experience. I'm deeply disappointed in Mozilla for embracing and enabling the ongoing disintegration of our shared internet.

There had better be a hassle free way to turn off these AI features in Firefox and never hear about them again.

I have used Firefox for decades on many devices as my primary browser with confidence. In this era of AI hype pushing and shitifying the entire internet experience especially I had been pleased to not see AI features popping up on Firefox I'd have to try to turn off and probably be pestered about trying no matter what I do. No more I guess.

People don't use Firefox because they want to expose themselves to AI. They use it because of Firefox's reputation of being reliable and trustworthy. Plugging into the nonsense machine to jump on a hype train undermines that trust and the user experience for many people. I already changed my search engine to DuckDuckGo to avoid AI in Google. I can change my browser too.

Thank you for your feedback, we really do appreciate it

Please be assured that Firefox will always remain a browser built around user control. That includes AI with increased user controls being made available in the first quarter of 2026. Choice matters and demonstrating our commitment to choice is how we build and maintain trust.
