Lock symbol on email symbol
2 possibly related issues. Environment Win10 latest Thunderbird version eMail server is google I was moving a large number of folders from a POP account to a new IMAP account. Something bad happened and Thunderbird died without an error message. When I restarted I found a lot of the POP folders had not transferred and there is a lock symbol on the POP account and I can not open it to show what is in it. Question 1: what does the lock symbol designate and how do I unlock the account. Question 2: are the missing folders gone? I realize that I probably need to solve #1 first. -- bill

Addendum: The lock symbol (as of 9 yrs ago) indicated a secure connection. The new IMAP account does not have the lock symbol.
The lock symbol is no longer used.
If your messages are gone from the pop folder then you must restore from a backup.
