When I interact with a chatbot on the sidebar, does it reads the whole webpage and use it as a context or only the selected text?

No, it does not. It only sends what is highlighted.
This is a very simple and huge miss.
All the chatbots SHOULD send the URL as context, especially since all the chatbots can surf the web now to have better context.
