Android Firefox does not properly sync passwords
hey community,
i am pretty desperate at this point, so i thought, i'd just ask you:
a while ago i had a breach of some of my old passwords. i was able to redo all my passwords into new and strong passwords before someone did shenanigans with my accounts, but the password sync of my firefox app on android still has the old passwords.
i tried disconnecting and reconnecting the sync, i tried deleting the cache and app data, still everytime i get the same result. i can't even log into ky university's default account anymore.
i desperately need your help. what am i doing wrong, what am i missing?
greetings!

Hi
Do you have the old or new passwords in your other copy of Firefox?
hey paul, i tried to reply to your reply, but i get an error while doing that ... now i try it after a few days again, so regarding the sync issue:
so on my desktop i have the up-to-date passwords, but whenever i connect a new (android) device, it seems to get an old and outdated list of passwords and weirdly enough it doesn't really remember, if i change those wrong passwords on android, too. but obviously it gets complicated by the fact, that password managing on android ist a bit fiddly in itself ...
all the best!
If you have the correct passwords in the desktop copy of Firefox:
- Turn off your Android device
- Manually trigger a Sync event in the desktop copy of Firefox
- Wait a few minutes
- Turn on your Android device and open Firefox for Android and let it Sync.
hey paul. thanks for the reply. tried your recommendation, did not work though. still the same old list of passwords. is there something else i can try?
