New email popup opens the Message Pane. I don't want to use the Message Pane.

Clicking a new email popup opens the Message Pane, but I don't use Message Pane generally.

I feel like it is reasonable to expect that when I have the Message Pane off/hidden that clicking a new message popup would follow the same behaviour as the "open messages in..." setting (a new tab in my case).

Am I missing a setting or is this a UI peculiarity that I should submit as a bug/feature request?

What is your version? 115.2.2 is the latest.

Ha, timing. I had looked for a solution at the weekend, it was fixed on Monday and then I posted this question, so I missed the update and release notes.

I just updated and it is now fixed.
