Delayed or no audio on Youtube

I have a huge audio issue that has plagued me for months now. Whenever I open a video on Youtube there is often no audio for about 20-30 seconds after playing the video. Sometimes the audio doesn't play at all and I gotta reload the video. When the audio does decide to cut in it's completely out of sync. Skipping to a spot in the video does seem to fix that issue. Sometimes I'll be playing a video and after a certain point the audio will just stop. The video itself will keep playing but there will be no sound like it's muted. I'll need to reload to fix this. It used to be fine for years than suddenly earlier this year it started doing this. If I remember correctly it started after a windows update, but no idea if it's connected or not. This ONLY happens with Youtube. I have tested this in other places: Magellan, Twitch VODs, Vimeo, Pornhhub yada yada. Jokes aside, pretty much everything works normally except Youtube.

And before someone sends me this link https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues and just says "try this." I have gone through everything posted there. I have tried refreshing firefox. I have tried using 0 addons (even though it worked fine with all them before). I have tried reinstalling. I have tried seemingly every video suggestion under the sun.

I am at my wits end. I REALLY don't want to use Chrome, or any other Chromium based browser but given that I browse the site almost daily this has been a huge headache that I am dealing with daily and it is getting harder to not look for other options. Can anyone help fix this?

Most sites don't use VP9/AV1 codecs like Youtube does. Install h264ify and see if that makes any difference.

That certainly is a massive improvement. At least it starts immediately when I hit play. I am pretty sure I tried this before I reinstalled and refreshed the browser with little success (This codec is mentioned in the link I posted above, but I don't believe I used an addon for it when I tried installing other codecs). Right now there still seems to be some small stutter when I hit play, but so far it has been playing every time. I'll see how this goes and update later today.

What is the make and model of you computer? Is it a desktop, laptop, or DIY?

There still is a stutter at the start although the codec addon did dramatically improve things and is now somewhat watchable I would say it's 85% fixed. It seems to still be an issue when the video is really long (~30 minutes or longer). If I am not able to completely fix the issue I at least can live with it as is.

How about the audio hardware and drivers? Do you have another computer having the same issue? If you're running Windows Pro version, try the Sandbox option and see if you have the same issue. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/
