For some reason whenever I try and move a tab to a different location, the animation is quite chopping and the tab takes about half a second to move to where I've dragged my mouse. If i click on the tab and very slowly move it there's no lag at all.

Troubleshooting I've attempted: Updated Firefox Refreshed Updated my drivers Launched in troubleshoot mode Removed all add-ons Tried Beta, Nightly and Dev Edition Uninstalled firefox and removed all appdata Ran in compatibility mode and as admin Looked at task monitor (Firefox and Windows) Ran a malware and virus scan Factory reset my pc

This issue is only occurring on my desktop, and not my laptop. It seems like it may be a hardware issue as factory resetting my pc didn't fix it.

My specs are: Windows 10 Home 22H2 CPU: i7-7700 GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme 8gb Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4, 2133MHz Storage: Samsung 980 PRO M.2

This is not necessarily due to Firefox, but can also be due to your device, but if this is a new modern device, I would write to you again.

This device is coming up to 6 years old, however nothing else in Firefox lags except when I move tabs around. For clarification I don't mean when moving a tab to create a new window, but when, for example, I want to move my 5th tab all the way to the left.

Does this only happen when you move tabs or drag them away, e.g. in the middle of the screen? I can only recommend you this video, maybe it will help you.

Dragging then away is fine. It's only when moving them

Bump. Still having this issue

Since this is only reproducible at your end, you will need to do some technical legwork to investigate the issue:

1. Record a performance profile while dragging tabs in a clean new profile and share the link here.

2. Use mozregression to determine if it was ever smooth in older versions and find exactly when it broke.

Hey zeroknight, thanks for the advice. Here is a link to the profiler capture using a new profile https://share.firefox.dev/43vv9iv

I used mozregression to test the bug and it looks like it occurs on version 60 as well (I tested both 32 and 64 bit). It also occurs on Firefox 30 (64 bit)
