Message via bitdefender
I work with a laptop @home and have installed Bitdefender for security reasons. Today I had a warning (it's in Dutch, I do not know if that is a problem).
""It says something like firefox.exe has tried to make a connection based on a not approved certificate with browser.pipe.aria.microsoft.com. We have blocked the connection to keep your data safe. I can add this to exclusions"" or something like that.
I have never seen something like this before and I would like to know what it means and if I should exclude this, etc. So that's why I send you a mail to check it. Like to hear from you and many thanks in advance. Greetz Karin

Hi Karin, it sounds like this might have been triggered by visiting a Microsoft site, but that's just a guess.
Bitdefender has the option to intercept and filter your Firefox browsing connection as part of its Online Threat Prevention feature ("Online dreigingspreventie"?).
Firefox already checks certificates when you try to access an HTTPS site, and for every HTTPS resource requested by a page. It sounds like Bitdefender is doing that, too. Not sure that is adding a lot of value, compared with having it watch for malicious content, which is more of its specialty, but I don't know how much control you have over that.
Either way, if you make an exception for that address in Bitdefender, then Firefox can make its own judgment about whether it is possible to make a secure connection to the site.

You don't have to contact but you need to go to BitDefender site and see why your getting the message your getting and need be contact them about the issue your having with BitDefender.
One can still post here in case some other Firefox user using BitDefender or such is aware of the cause and or fixes.
