I expect that each page / tab in firefox is placed in its own thread.

However, I experience that when one page gets stuck .. javascript is caught in a wait loop .. that this affects other pages.

Is there something in FireFox that I can change to insure that each page is in it's own thread, and doesn't affect another page's performance?

Hello,

Firefox is multithreaded; however, it does not do the same thing as Blink based browsers (Ie. make a process for every tab).

Please go to about:preferences#general and find the Performance section. Here you can disable the automatic settings and directly change the process limit.

If a specific website does this and is public, please send the link so that we can test it.

Strange that FireFox is not being updated when I execute .. dnf Update .. but, when I specifically executed .. dnf update FireFox .. wa la .. 94.0.x came down.

I'll check through my history for sites that caused problems and see if I can list them here.

Please note, dnf update is depreciated. You should use dnf upgrade or dnf up instead

It is possible that your Linux distribution has reached EOL and no longer receives updates You can try Firefox from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution to see if it behaves differently.
