Can I create a bookmark for an HTML file in my download folder? indicates local storage is accessible. Maybe it was once upon a time, but the method provided no longer works. I once had several html files in my download directory and I don't know how to access them now.

Hi

This is currently not supported in Firefox for Android, but is something that may be included in a future update.

Well this capability existed just a few weeks ago and was recently and intentionally removed without any explanation. Why was the capability removed? I do need access to local storage and really prefer Firefox over a modified Chrome. Any suggestions along with an explanation why the capability was removed would be appreciated.

Hi

I have clarified with our developrs and can confirm that this feature was temporarily in Firefox for Android but was removed as supporting it long term would be resource intensive against time and effort spent on features that would be of more use.

Don't mean to keep this thread alive, but I saw a few comments on another forum hinting that Mozilla removed these capabilities from Android Firefox at the request of Google. Can you confirm if that is true or not?

Honestly I do not know or have an answer to that. Let me look into that and come back to you.

I can confirm that this was a decision taken by Mozilla.
