When i browse to a web page with a username and password, firefox displays a drop-down list with saved usernames, this list includes saved usernames and passwords from a number of other sites. these sites are all for the same domain, but not the same site.

To turn it off, enter about:config in the url bar and set signon.includeOtherSubdomainsInLookup = false.
