How do I stop the annoying editing menu that pops up?
When writing a message, particularly when highlighting text, a short editing menu pops up for which the mouse has to be clicked to get rid of the menu; it keeps appearing if there is any modification of the highlight. It is extremely annoying.

I think that's a menu that will appear if you double-click on white space in the edit window.
Could you please try with a new or different mouse? Unwanted double clicks are often cured by a new mouse.
