How to permanently remove Pocket from new Tabs in Quantum?
Firefox 57.06b (Beta channel) doesn't show browser.pocket features in about:config so you can't get rid of the annoying Pocket icons in a new browser tab. I like lean and clean. I don't like stuff shoved in my face.
Are there perhaps new names for the about:config features of Pocket? The listing is huge, and you don't want to mess with things.

Hi
The about:config pref to toggle to remove the Pocket icon from the toolbar is extensions.pocket.enabled and will work in Firefox Quantum.

You can right-click the Pocket icon on the toolbar or the item in the "3-dot" button drop-down list and click "Remove from Address Bar".
Edit: Received a PM from Seburo that toggling <strike>browser.pocket.enabled</strike> extensions.pocket.enabled on the about:config page removes the context menu item and the toolbar button.
(had copied the pref name from an older browser, fixed it to avoid confusion - c)

Firstly, I couldn't find any browser.pocket.enabled line in about:config for Quantum. This was the first thing I had tried but the method has obviously changed for Quantum.
Secondly, the Pocket icon no longer shows in the Toolbar for Quantum, so there is nothing to right-click and modify.
Finally, what did work, was I clicked on the Option cog icon in the upper right corner of the tab window, placed just below the Toolbar, and it let me uncheck the features I didn't want, including displaying Pocket.
It's odd that I didn't notice the Option cog previously. It would have been my first choice if I had.
Edit: mea culpa... the Pocket icon and 3-dot bar do appear in the Toolbar - just in a new place. They are now immediately to the right of the Address bar and not in the general icon collection further to the left.

Thank you to both cor-el and Seburo for extremely fast, timely and useful replies to my question.
Now if I could only find the feedback link for Firefox Quantum to express my dismay at the Bookmark jumble after conversion.
You can't physically drag & drop the Bookmark items around into your own order preference, either, like you could before.
And, to add insult to injury, my top Bookmarks (which appeared above the dashed line before) were completely left out post-conversion. I had to re-visit and re-select those sites.
The star has become part of the location bar and is no longer a button that you can drag. There is now a new page action icon (3 horizontal dots: ...) that open a special menu. There is a "Show your bookmarks" button available in the Customize palette that was previously the drop marker part of the combined star and "Show your bookmarks" button, but that button is now available as a separate toolbar button and you can drag it out of the palette to the toolbar or to the overflow area.
I've set the enable pocket to "false" and I still get the stupid pocket guesses at what I would like. I do not want my system cluttered with someone's guesses at what I'd like to see. I'm quite capable of finding what I want for myself. I dislike intensely the arrogance of those who think they can guess for me.
The new page action menu (I think it's new with Quantum) is a total bummer when you save bookmarks. Instead of opening the bookmarks menu from the menu bar, it pops open to the far right from the action menu. I wish I could delete the page action menu.
You do not need to delete the page actions menu. Note that you can right-click items in that page actions menu to be able to move an item as a toolbar button to the page actions container in the location/address bar.
Thank you cor-el I knew that, but that's not why I want to remove it. My issue is the way it opens the bookmarks menu in page actions now instead of from the bookmarks tab in the menu bar when you save book marks. It doesn't make sense to click "Bookmark this page" and have to move to a completely different side of the page when it opens up in the "Page actions menu". The same thing happens when I use the shortcut to save a book mark. I wish I could change it back to the old way.
