Help me get these people out of my profile.So they stop stealing my data , stealing my intellect property in harassing

I am having issues keeping a single profile on firefox. all of my tabs and bookmarks would disappear every other log in which makes using this browser harder than it should be. What is something I can do to make sure my bookmarks and tabs are there? I tried to delete other profiles but am not getting any responses from the browser as well.

Has the profile logic been thought through?

When I set a default profile, I would expect

A) all new pages open into the default B) That firefox always opens the default without request.

This does not happen.

firefox.exe -P is set correctly.

Any ideas? I feel after the profile choice was improved, the basic logic may of been broken.

So I got a tough.

I can't log into my profiles....an unexpected error has occurred, Sometimes I get an error saying the file is in use.

I locked out all my profiles on my main computer.

Here is what happened...

Computer crashed while TB was running in the background. Upon restart TB wont start - Restart computer again - Nope Tried opening TB in safe mode - Nope No error.

So I do a clean install -- Uninstall using revo to remove ALL files Clean install and TB Opens... Install Profile - An unexpected error has prevented your changes from being saved. Install a different Profile - An unexpected error has prevented your changes from being saved. Delete all partent.lock files on all profiles.... Profiles all still - An unexpected error has prevented your changes from being saved.

Attempt to open same profile on ANOTHER computer and it opens. ONE profile however will not open on the other computer - says a file is in use

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and once again...

I installed Thunderbird on my new laptop, then imported the profile from my old laptop

The main screen has, under "Inbox", folders for Drafts, Sent, Trash, Archive and Spam, which are being used by the program

Folders for Drafts, Sent and Trash also appear under "Local Folders" (along with Outbox) and these aren't being used by the program.

How do I get rid of these duplicate folders? "Spam" had a delete option, so that was easy, but the others don't.

I tried the two suggestions for a previous "Duplicates" question but they didn't resolve things.

I'm getting frequent popup messages from McAfee, my email threat detector, that they've detected and stopped a threat, but none is identified. McAfee's chatbot wants me to create a new profile and add my email accounts to that profile. Will I lose access to all my currently saved email messages and calendar information?

I wanted to separate private and work, so I made a whole new account – and associated it with the old one.

Then I found out I could just make an extra profile, which I did – and then I deleted the new account.

But now I can't access or syncronize my primary profile, and I don't know how to separate the two – or preferably just make one single account again, and the do the new profile from scratch.

When I try to log in to my original account with cyber@mikes.dk it says:

Account already in use cyber@mikes.dk is already signed in to the “Cybermikes” profile You can only associate this account with one profile on this computer.

Can you help?

I have followed the instructions that several people give to transfer my existing Thunderbird installation to a new computer where I have just installed Thunderbird. That is I copied the Thunderbird folder and put it in the Roaming folded found in %appdata%. Both computers are on Windows 11. When I open the new Thunderbird, it does not recognise it. Furthermore, in Help>Troubleshooting information>Profile folder when I click to open the folder, it looks for a folder that is not in my previous Thunderbird installation: qr19mupe.default-release instead of the one that came with my imported Thunderbird folder. Has this happened to anybody and found the solution? Can anybody help please?

TL;DR: I am dumb, but not an idiosyncratic web browser user, and it was too easy for me to accidentally permanently delete all of my browser data. Deleted profiles should be moved into system trash when deleted, not rm'd entirely.

I have never used "profiles" and somehow, after updating firefox, seemed to have created one. I have no interest in using the feature, and therefore went to delete the new profile and disable the feature. Somehow, I instead deleted the profile I had implicitly been using all along. I clicked too hastily through the warning about deleting files, because it simply did not occur to me that deleting something related to this net-new feature should clear all of my *old* data. My goal was to restore the experience I've had in firefox for years (without profiles), but because I failed to adapt to the new feature, I lost everything instead.

I apologize for maybe shouting into the void about this, but I am posting on the off chance that this will reach someone who's involved in the implementation of these features and can save some other dumb person like me from making the same dumb mistake. It's quite painful to suddenly lose years of accumulated bookmarks, extensions, history, etc. The easiest and least intrusive solution would be to always move profiles into system trash when they are deleted, and never permanently delete them.

My Thunderbird was working fine today, all messages received, could send/receive email and all parts of my profile that I had set up (ie custom archive folders) were present and had emails.. I did a Windows update and when I reopened Thunderbird there was a pop up prompting me to login to my yahoo email. I did so and now everything is gone, all folders are empty - no emails and none of the unique folders I had created. The only thing that I can tell is still present is my address book. I am also unable to send or receive emails. When I try to send an email (to myself or anyone else) I get a pop-up "The mail server responded: Request failed; Mailbox unavailable. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings." I checked and the email listed is correct, the one I have been using my entire life. I also checked my Server Settings and they appear to be correct. (I have a cox.net email address which I transitioned to yahoo several years ago as instructed by Cox, as Cox no longer supports email - everything has been working perfectly until today) I also see there was a Thunderbird update done at 5:53PM today which would have been the same time I did the windows update (Thunderbird 153.0.3esr). I sent an email to myself from my yahoo website email and it never arrived in my Thunderbird Inbox but it DOES show in my Thunderbird "Sent" folder. I do have a Thunderbird backup ZIP file but unfortunately it is about a year old so obviously won't have some stuff I would not like to lose. Thoughts?????

I use Thunderbird for many years, I have a profile weighing 3,6 GB now… I already moved this profile on my old computer, from default location to a data disk. Now I needed to move it to a new computer, so I moved it to my Dropbox (with local storage on both), to conveniently access it from the new machine, and to have some kind of backup (with a real backup, more occasional, of course). I don't plan to launch Thunderbird from both computers, so there should be no conflict.

I installed a fresh new download of Thunderbird (152), which I just upgraded to 153. The new computer runs Windows 11 Professional (build 26200.8875), has 32 GB of memory and a large amount of free disk space.

[Profile2] Name=PhiLho IsRelative=0 Path=C:\Dropbox\Applications\Thunderbird\0q9jw2nn.default Default=1 ``` Profile 0 and 1 were created at installation time. I added the Profile2 and I set StartWithLastProfile to 0 to ensure the profile manager sees the profile.

When I start Thunderbird, after choosing the PhiLho profile, I end up with an empty window: no accounts, no messages, no folders, etc. I see no relevant error in the developer console, or the logs. What I am missing?

all my icons keep wanting to sign me in i lost all n y icon mey extensions are there are enabled

enabled but not in  toolbar   ehat is going on     firefox is screwed p everytime  i hit any icons  i have to  reload or reinstall please help

I'm asking this question so I can post some helpful information for people wanting to create a backup of their profile.

How do you locate the correct folder to backup? The backup must contain everything, profiles, mail accounts, emails, address books, calendar, preferences - the lot. The backup can be used to transfer between computers.

I'm using the latest version of Firefox on macOS Tahoe. Over the past 2–3 days, Firefox has started behaving unexpectedly.

Issues:

   Firefox automatically creates additional Dock icons while I'm only using a single Firefox window. Even if I remove the extra icon, it reappears after some time.

   When I open a different Firefox profile, it launches under a new Dock icon instead of using the existing Firefox icon. As a result, I end up with three separate Firefox Dock icons simultaneously.

   Firefox also fails to play pronunciation audio on some dictionary websites (e.g., JapanDict). Clicking the speaker icon produces only a brief click with no spoken audio. The same pronunciation works correctly in Safari, suggesting a Firefox-specific issue.

Expected behavior:

   Firefox should use a single Dock icon (unless intentionally running separate app instances).

   Different profiles should not create unexpected duplicate Dock icons.

   Pronunciation audio should play normally, as it does in Safari.

Environment:

   macOS Tahoe (latest version)

   Firefox (latest version)

My Windows 11 PC crashed but i was able to recover copy of my firefox profile. I copied previous profile folders and i am able to access those profiles using firefox.exe -P command.

But profiles don't show up in the new profile switcher. How can i restore them to modern way profiles work.

i don't want to setup accounts and sync for my profiles.

On T-Bird start up I'm given a list of (originally) four Profiles. Currently I only use Profile Three, but on start=up today it is not there. Doing the usual searches does not list it, only 'default', 'new user' and 'profile two'. Is there any way to recover it?

This is a follow-on to a question I asked yesterday. I appear to have accidentally deleted the main Profile I use for email. However - thinking back - I'm 99% sure I clicked the 'Don't Delete Folders' command. This supposedly deleted the Profile name BUT retained all the information in 'storage' - but where is that located?
