The norton tool bar feature which identifies problem sites (safe web) is a good tool and has saved us from many problems. From past experience I feel it is something I must have.

I loaded firefox 4 and while I like the program I removed it because of the lack of that feature but would like to use FF4.

You need to contact Norton about their plans for supporting Firefox 4. It is quite common for companies to only support a new version of a browser after it has been officially released, and not support it during the beta/release candidate phase.

or switch av's entirely. i use avast instead of norton and for a free av its far better than norton ever will be. i wonder why norton is not bankrupt yet or out of business thanks to the shoddy way everything about their programs is run. eg. uses too much resource , prevents you from accessing the net.. such things like that. i wouldn't trust norton with a single byte of my info

see a post i made about the virtues and vices of some of the software protection out there

Checked on Norton, they are working on an update to fix the problem. Will be available in early May.

I checked with Symantec "Norton" and this is what they say on this issue "We plan to release an update for NIS/NAV 18.5 and Norton 360 v5 in early May that will address the problems found in both Internet Explorer 9 and FireFox 4. We're still working on this patch, and testing it thoroughly. I have opened a page in our Norton Community where you can find more information. Please note: the Norton Toolbar does not work on 64-bit versions of Internet Explorer." I too also worry about what is or is not safe to look at now. But, I do not want to lose any of my book marks, so I will stay with FF4 and wait; I will just keep updating LiveUpdate and running scans more often.

That's not good enough, Tony! Firefox should have let me know before I downloaded the firefox 4. Now I can't go back to the 3.6 or what ever it was. I have gone back to IE until FIREFOX resolves the issues of compatibilty with Norton. I love my norton and will not go without it for even one day! Adios!

I'm still running an older version of IE until that issue is resolved also. At least I knew before downloading the newer that there was a problem.
