Having Problems with the bookmark, history and mostly after recent up grade Mozilla will not connectto the internet, even though the settings are all correct. Why?

After upgradeing to Firefox 3.6.15 I lost my bookmarked sites and have not been able to use bookmarks at all since. Also My history is not kept just like I was serfing in Private Browser mode. Only I'm not in private mode. Also recently after my provider replaced a server Firefox has not been able to connect to the Internet even though all the settings are correct. I have even tried to connect via Cell card. Still not success with firefox connecting to the internet. My Opera browser connects and works fine, but not Mozilla firefox.

I prefer to use Firefox, please advise on if there are any fixes or something I can change so it will work. I have also made sure Firefox is in the allowed section in my Firewall. All is set to allow access.15

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
