Glad to hear that you are going to change to GNU/Linux. Firefox is good for GNU/Linux.

According to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-devices Your bookmarks, browsing history, passwords, and open tabs will migrate with you securely.

I think most extensions are only related to Firefox, so you should be able to use all your current extensions.

On the left corner of Firefox, along side with the menu icon you will see the extension icon.

Good luck.

I apologize for not answering sooner, I had a software problem.... Do I simply install Ff on Ubuntu and it will synchronize, or can I do it via sync?

Yes, you just install Firefox and log in your Mozilla account to start sync. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-sync-my-computer
