When I "reply the message I'm replying to is high lighted totally in dark blue. Very annoying but........My reply starts immediately in from of the first character of the received message. Rather than on a separate line at the least. I have to hit return a couple times and then move the cursor back to the top to start my reply. This resets the display and kills the dark blue. Not a big deal but extra, why the need?, keystrokes. Thanks for any responses fixing or explaining what's happening.

That is not what I see. I click reply and the cursor is always on a new line. I just tried in on the daily (developers) build. Exactly the same.

Have you tried using troubleshoot mode on the help menu and continuing when prompted. That sounds like perhaps an addon or theme issue.
