There is a very strange bug that happens I try to open any site and firefox will directly say something is wrong, that it can't connect. But if I open edge (the new internet explorer) suddenly firefox connects fine. I'm not sure what is causing this and it's the first time I've ever had problems with firefox

Try this first : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

If error persists in Safe mode go to below, if not Extensions maybe the issue.

Please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
