Many Names and Email addresses no longer match. Why? What to do?

In my address book many of my e-mail addresses no longer match the name that they follow. John Doe's name is now followed by Marie Murray's address. When I check Marie Murray's listing, the address given is someone else's. This is not true of every name, but many are affected. I also have group lists. Sometimes I find a name that has migrated from a different group and doesn't belong.
