Update version 33.1 did not find bookmarks
I opened firefox, it was an upgrade to version 33.1 and all the bookmarks and saved passwords have gone. Now if I restart it is going to upgrade to version 33.1.1. This is the first upgrade in a few years that has lost the bookmarks and saved passwords. Windows 8.1.

If you are worried about losing your bookmarks, you can always back them up by following this guide:
After updating if you find that your bookmarks are lost, you can import this file:
You can also back up your profile information (including saved passwords) by following this guide:
- Manually back up and restore Firefox profile data (for recovering your entire profile)
- Restore bookmarks, passwords and data from an old Firefox profile (for recovering parts of your profile)
Note that losing your information usually means that a file wasn't closed properly and was corrupted. Next time your bookmarks specifically are not recovered, try installing the Places Maintenance extension to run maintenance on the file that stores your bookmarks/browsing history information.
