Typing an erroneous URL in the Firefox 31.0 URL bar redirects me to us.yhs4 search yahoo com that displays the LAVASOFT logo. It is not the case with any of my other browsers (IE, Chrome, Opera, Safari). So, this cannot be an ISP problem as stated in all current Firefox references. This problem started after I uninstalled adaware by LAVASOFT. It imposed itself instead of uninstalling. Thus, this is a malware behavior while LAVASOFT pretends to protect from malware. Nevertheless, I would like to know how to get rid of this annoying 404 redirect hijack. My homepage is now set to startpage com, my defaut search engine is startpage com, all references to Lavasoft and adaware have been removed through about:config and the Windows registry.... How to get rid of this spam redirect, please?

Click on Tools > Options and then General Tab

In the home page box type the url you want to fire fox open by default when you start browser.

I also disabled keyword (about:config keyword.disable) and still get this annoying LAVASOFT-Yahoo search result page.

Thanks for your answer. But that doesn't work. My homepage is already startpage com. It's a hijack, not a setup problem, I believe.

Also, my only active plugin is Shockwave Flash and my only active extension is DoNotTrack me.
