I fixed it, I think.. What I did was to start Firefox in Safe Mode (finally), and I'm even surprised it worked this time. And I unchecked the "Use hardware acceleration when available". I tried to restart it, just to see if I could start Firefox normally. And it did! :D So all I did was to follow the two links you provided, and did some further digging through those links.
