Dear Firefox, When ever your app is open and I try to Alt-Tab to hide the fact that I'm not actually doing work, the little Alt-Tab chooser thing in the middle stays open and gets stuck. I have found this only happens when Firefox is open, no matter what site I'm on. I have tried reinstalling and whatnot but I think it's time for me to move on. This decision comes after having to reinstall 10 times because the application wouldn't open AT ALL. Good luck and thanks for the memories! Michele

Chosen solution

Some display artifacts can be caused by display driver incompatibilities. Try disabling Firefox's use of hardware graphics acceleration.

You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If you restart Firefox, is the issue resolved?

With respect to Firefox not starting, that's usually not a problem with the program files, but with your personal settings. If you care enough to try again, please post back and we can discuss a solution for that.

So far, so good. Thank you.

I can't honestly tell you what finally worked, but it's starting without issue now. I un-checked the box you suggested and my alt-tab is working at the moment.

So far, so good.

Thank you for your help!
