Spell check has never been that good for Firefox and I just can't think of any reasons why Firefox is continuing to not upgrade it.

Before it had other priorities such as stability but I think there has to be a big push to start this as a project then make it self evolving with continuing community support.

Firefox uses the Hunspell library, another open source project, for spell checking. I'm sure they would appreciate some energy over there so they can improve the library for all the applications that use it (e.g., OpenOffice.org).

From another thread ([/questions/930694], now locked):

The Canadian dictionary isn't compatible with Aurora. I was wondering if there could be a localization made for Canadian spelling because we spell with u's such as colour and we get dinged in school and don't look as good in business and such when we use the American spelling of words.

Did you try to click the install button and choose Install Anyway?

The dictionary is currently compatible with Firefox 15a1, so 15a2 shouldn't be a problem.
