Tell me how to change my password, so that it works and no one else can use it. I can't get new emails for today.

More information may be needed. Please describe what happened and what email domain you use, such as gmail or AOL. Thank you.

Several times I have changed my password, but then the next time I use it, I can't send emails. Also, I haven't gotten any new ones since 2-5-24. I did enter a master password, but that doesn't work either. I'd appreciate any help you can give me. I use Opera for a browser and Thunderbird for email. [edited] @charter.net.

Carolyn, Please post your incoming server settings and your outgoing (SMTP) server settings. I'm looking for stuff such as - server name, e.g., mobile.charter.net or smtp.charter.net, etc - port number for incoming and outgoing, e.g.,993, 465, 587, etc - authentication settings such as SSL/TLS, STARTTLS, none, etc - is email address entered fully or just partially. it should be the full email address.

this is at account settings>server settings pane and at account settings>Outgoing Servers (SMTP pane.

The master password is to protect the use of thunderbird for access. Has nothing to do with your problem. I recommend turning that OFF because, if you ever forget, there is no easy way to recover it.
