The option button asking about showing remote content does not show up.

When I allow remote content in options/privacy and security, the remote content is not displayed.

I tried:

- restarting in safe more; - resetting all settings to default; - re-installing thunderbird.

Nothing helps.

I use no add-ons except dictionaries (German French, Russian, Spanish).

I am using version 78.5.0, but the problem emerged before I upgraded to this version.

Thanks!

Yuri.

Chosen solution

Check that View/Message Body As is Original HTML, as any other setting will not display remote content or the option button.

Also, the preference permissions.default.image must be 1, the default, in Options/General/Indexing/Config. editor.

The most usual cause is anti virus product. try disabling yours

If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.

Be aware that the OPTIONS button will not be present if "Thunderbird thinks this message is Junk mail." As soon as you select "Not Junk" you will get a new Notification line with the OPTIONS button.
