Where is the selected email display gone in version 68.10.0

Before the Julyu 1st release of Thunderbird 68.10.0 I was able to view a selected email from my inbox in a window below the email list. It's not there now and I can't find a control to redisplay it. Is this feature gone or has it been removed?

Press F8 to show the Message Pane. It's under View/Layout.

Thank you. It displays as a column next to the email list. How do I get it to display below the list prior to the update?
