Default option to chose sorting method for ALL folders at once

Hi all,

As Thunderbird and more generally Mozilla are major actors in open source world I do believe my searches were not good enough as I wasn't able to find any place to configure globally my sorting preferences. I mean that I can't believe this option does not exist...

So, how can I access such an option? Something to tell Thunderbird that I do like my mails ordered in some way in all my accounts and all these accounts sub-folders?

Hoping the question is clear enough, cheers,

mathias

Not sure what stans sent:

This may help.

Select the folder that you have got relevant columns.

click on far right icon to see drop down selection.

At the bottom you will see 'Apply columns to' option which will offer you to set choice on account.

See image.

I sent a link to an answer in the SuperUser forum, which has detailed instructions for how to change default sorting preferences via the Config Editor. Here's a screenshot of Config Editor showing the modified preferences.

Hi you both,

Thank you for your replies.

I used the Stans' solution and it worked as expected. This link gives nice explanations regarding options codes.

Cheers
