Why can't one print a one day page of the day diary with appointments for the day

It would be nice if one could print a day appointment page for that day only like in Outlook. The only 3 options currently are LIST, WEEKLY or MONTHLY.

I note your reply is a bit caustic, isn't the whole point of this Support page to enhance the look of the software and to look for bugs.

No support is about helping people use the software. Where outright fail to work bugs exist we still encourage folk to file their own as we don't have the problem, or can not reproduce it. The one that can answer questons about the issue is the one experiencing it.

I did file a bug report a year or two ago and was totally ignored.

Thunderbird teetered on the brink for some time after Mozilla left the game in 2012. There are now some paid developers, paid for by donations from Thunderbird users. However until Lightning is integrated it will still be the poor cousin as the core product gets priority for enhancement. It is noteworthy the calendar will be fully integrated in the next version (78), so a lot of work is going on to integrate it at the moment. As for your last bug, just because it did not get traction means little. That it was not closed as "will not fix" is. I have files a lot of bug over the years, few have gone t actually being implemented, but I still file the ones for the things I think are important. Personally the calendar is not all that important to me. If I did not keep Thunderbird meetings/ deadlines in it I probably would not have it installed.

I am therefore not familiar with all of the calendar addons that are available, have you checked them? https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/search/?q=calendar&appver=&platform=

If the software guys cannot do it, they cannot do it, it is that simple.

If it is not in Bugzilla as a request, then the software guys will not even consider it, unless they return to printing stuff. Most people do not print stuff, especially developers. The days of a printed appointment diary for the receptionist are gone. Shared calendars have replaced that concept on the whole. That does not say such a request would not be acted on, but the module owner is the one that sets the priorities for the module, not you, not me and not support requests. They will not prioritize a non existent request.

I select to print a calendar, I select the list option and I get a list. What version of Thunderbird are you using? I have 68.6

Hi, I use the same version as you. The weekly list looks good, the monthly list looks good but there are no daily list printed with hours for the day. The third option, the list is a ugly lineless report or list.

So now we get to your point. You do not like the format. That is not the option does not exist. It is it does not suit your use.

I suggest you file a bug requesting an enhancement if you think the report format could do with improvement. Just remember the developer that reads your enhancement request probably does not use outlook, just as I have not used in for anything work like for more than a decade. So saying things "like outlook" actually tell me and other not familiar with modern versions of outlook nothing at all.

Enhancement requests can be filed in Bugzilla https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/home

This request for a daily to do list should help you in forming your request with components etc. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=214791

Hi Matt, This is a screen print of the calender in Thunderbird... on the screen the day view is great, why not just be able to print that exact nice screen. the List print looks shoddy compared to what it could look like. Nothing to do with what I want or not. It is a pity I cannot program well enough as I would have fixed it in a jiffy. I am surprised that nobody ever thought that would look great. Why have a calender in Thunderbird if it is shoddy, rather then just stick with being a email program and be good at it. I love Thunderbird and have installed it on countless customer machines.
