I have message syncing turned off. Will this keep my hard drive from filling up with emails I read in Thunderbird?

I want to be able to use Thunderbird to view emails, but not download them for local storage. I unchecked "Message Synchronization" in the Account Settings. Will this let me view message without loading down my HD with emails?

Chosen solution

Yes, when you download messages they will be stored in a cache, but not written to a folder in the profile. The cache size is set in Tools/Options/Advanced/Network & Disk Space.
