Suggestions, please Logitech mouse and track ball jump when scrolling in calendar?
Thought I had a patch for this a while ago that worked, but can't find it. Logitech support hasn't been very helpful so far. Issue doesn't exist when using a different brand mouse. Does anyone have a fix?
Chosen solution
As other mouse works ok in Thunderbird, this sounds more like an issue specific to that mouse/track ball.
Have you cleaned your mouse track ball ?
Battery can last eg: 18 months of use. Does it require a new battery? Have you tried a new battery?
The wireless receiver is probably plugged in a USB port. Have you tried removing it and plugging back in?
Have you updated all relevant drivers?
Last time you mentioned you had to use 'unity' to fix issue. Is 'unity' up to date? There might be an issue with unifying receiver or setup which is beyond the scope of this forum.

re:Issue doesn't exist when using a different brand mouse. It would seem do not have an issue with Thunderbird, you have an issue with your Logitech mouse.
You asked this same question about 7 months ago. Menu icon > Options > Advanced > 'General' tab clickon 'Config Editor' button general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS increase value from default 400 to 800 or 1000 close window Click on OK
But I believe you already tried that because you also said: quote after chatting with Logitech, they told me to download a software which I believe was "Unity". After that and going through some settings with them, the issue has been resolved.
Perhaps that is what you are refering to when you say 'Thought I had a patch for this a while ago that worked, but can't find it.'
I believe this was the fix. Thank you very much. Much appreciated. Please forgive my ignorance, but I can't figure out how to get to the setting. Could you please enlighten me better?
You use the config editor. it is on the options menu under advance in the options dialog and the general tab.
Thanks for all the help. I increased the value, but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. Any other suggestions, please?

Thanks for all of your help. The receiver is plugged into a powered multi-port hub. After some experimentation, I noticed that the devices now work okay when the receiver is moved from it's original position to some but not all others. Seems odd to me. The hub is old. Could it have gone bad?
In addition, I have passed on the information to Logitech for their response.
