Why do only about 5% of my emails come through Thunderbird while the rest come through Gmail.

This appeared to start after an automatic Thunderbird update about six months ago.I have tried uninstall/reinstall of Thunderbird and Email account to no avail.This caused me to lose all previous emails still in my Thunderbird account

There is no such thing as a "Thunderbird account". You've set up an account with an email provider, e.g. Gmail or Yahoo. Then you use Thunderbird to access mail for that account on your email provider's server, as well as to send mail via your email provider's server.

I didn't say Thunderbird account originaly. Should have said BT account through Thunderbird.Sorry.
