A couple days ago both Firefox and Thunderbird started crashing on startup, and keep saying "There was a problem submitting the report". I've tried running Malwarebytes, Spybot, etc., nothing found. I've uninstalled Firefox both by using Win XP program uninstall and the Firefox uninstall, and re-installing a freshly downloaded version. No go. I've tried looking for the crash reports, but little found (maybe I'm not looking correctly?). And, unfortunately, I find this forum hard to use and confusing. Also, I don't have time to wade thru pages of tips, etc. I'd prefer all correspondence set to me at my email address (lvlflyer@concentric.net) and my replies sent directly back to tech support instead of having to further look for tips on this forum. Thanks for any help you can provide! Verne

Please edit your question to hide your email addres unless you would like it to get picked up by spambots.

For how to submit a crash report for Firefox and Thunderbird, see Mozilla Crash Reporter and Mozilla Crash Reporter TB respectively - basically you should view a few crash report IDs and post them here.

If you want to try something that may be a quick solution or at least pinpoint the issue, uninstall your security and antivirus software (unless when not on a LAN / using a router) or restart Windows in Safe Mode with networking enabled - assuming you are on Windows since that isn’t clear from your question details. If that enables you to run it, that software may prevent both products from running properly.

You can reinstall it afterwards and see what happens, and should also be able to see a history log for any updates applied to that software - after all it’s no coincidence it started a few days ago. You can also name that software here, but the above may be faster.
