storing passwords, security breach
recently Firefox has been asking me to save my password in Firefox. Why? I don't want that. It has come suddenly and unexpected in both computers using Firefox. Is this a breach of security in Firefox?

hi zecharia, if you don't want that behaviour then please turn it off in the firefox menu ≡ > options > security panel. as a user would still have to opt-in for each site where it's offered that passwords get saved, i don't see how this would qualify as breach of security...
what surprises me is that this behaviour came suddenly after over 6 months of use of Firefox and without any questions. Then abt 3 weeks ago it started and I have done no change of settings. Self propelled software?
Well, this options has never been checked ON, it has always been unchecked and I double checked it right now and yes, it is off. But still.... Perhaps there is an assumption in the software that if not deliberately checke OFF, then it is ON, even if not touched.
could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...
I cut paste the raw data which was 10237 chars which is more than 10.000 which is maximum allowed. Sorry, can't sent it.
Please try and this time edit our the print related information as that will probably not relate to your problem. Alternatively just split the data over a couple of separate posts. in one post delete the bottom half, in the other delete the top half. That should give you plenty of room, and you will probably be able to post the formatted data.

thanks, nothing obvious is sticking out there. is the password saving dropdown panel showing up on every page where you enter credentials?
yes it does, even on the Mozilla pages, right now
thus, I can’t login to other pages such as Silabs etc.
