Win 10 how to transfer contacts from windows live mail to thunderbird
Hello, I tried everything but nothing works. I export it as a xpi extension, as a csv changed comma to point etc. Please help me.
Chosen solution
The other way is the correctly map fields, but it would still be beneficial to alter column header if you currently have the full name in a single column and not in two columns.
This link has a good example of mapping fields. http://en.flossmanuals.net/thunderbird/migrating/ Look under the section : Importing contacts from a text file
If you still have an issue then it is likely the exported .csv file contains semicolons instead of commas, or the other way around. Read info here and make sure all is correct.

Well those are the instructions. I have no idea what "tried everything" means and am not wanting to spend time guessing. Maybe if you provide some detail on what is not working for you someone will help.
I have tried everything I found on the internet, and your method unfortunately did not worked also. Downloaded various programs, that also did not work. Mail transfer was no problem but unfortunately not succeed the address book. Get it only in parts such as only zip code or phone numbers. And sorry for my bad English, don't get angry please. But anyway leave it, i will copy and paste everything. Only a lot of work for me.
This sounds like you have not mapped the address book fields correctly.
One way of fixing this: Export the address book as a comma separated.csv file. Create a copy of the file as a backup. Open the .csv file using Excel Across the top will be the column headers. You can move column headers, rename them or create new ones. You need to have the same field names (column headers) as used in Thunderbird. This link lists the default field names as used in Thunderbird address book:
So, if you have a column called 'Name' and it lists the full name. eg: Joe Bloggs
The you need to create two columns: 'First Name' and 'Last Name' and they should be the first two columns. Then you would need to copy paste all the first names in 'Name' column into 'First Name' column. Do the same for the last name.
Once you have a.csv file that uses exactly the same feld names as Thunderbird and they are in the correct order, you should find it easy to import.
