i have an add-in called "Security Protection 1.0.0" that i don't recall adding and i can't find any information on it. i have disabled it for now. what is it?
the add-on is called "Security Protection 1.0.0 by lightning"
i have included the image that is shown on the addins page corresponding to this addin.
the tag lists the image source as src="chrome://shortcutff/skin/icon.png" if that is helpful.
i have noticed that the chrome browser also has the same looking addin except that it is version "1.2.4"
thank you

You can check the extensions.ini file in the Firefox profile folder to see if this extension is installed globally in case there is not Remove button in about:addons but only a Disable buuton.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
