Since October 24, my filters do not work again. Also, when trying to delete a message from the Inbox, a pop-up appears that says:

"The current operation on 'Inbox' did not succeed. The mail server for account ... responded: Command Error. 12."

The message that I try to delete remains in the Inbox. I tryed to do this: http://www.under-score.org.uk/pipermail/underscore/2012-October/111875.html and setted mail.server.default.send_client_info" to "false", but this does not work. (true does not work and false does not work).

Technical Information: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5, Thunderbird 24.6.0 and 31.2.0 (error for both versions of Thunderbird). Thank you for any help. Regards, Birgit

Chosen solution

FOUND A SOLUTION. Installed the add-on ExQuilla for Microsoft Exchange 31.0.1136 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/exquilla-exchange-web-services/ Reboot Thunderbird, then go to server settings - Create a new account - select ExQuilla and re-create your account. You must also re-create your filters.

This is a solution, but it does not fix the initial problem that seems to be a MS Exchange Server issue of the 2013CU6 update.

Might be a server issue: http://msexchangeguru.com/2014/08/28/e2013cu6installation/

1st thing, I’m missing O365 part from ECP which now leads to some offical Office site (this issue is described here – http://www.expta.com/2014/08/dont-deploy-exchange-2013-cu6-if-youre.html). There is an information that fix was released by Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2997355) but it doesn’t work. Fix contains PowerShell script which changes file (RemoteDomains.xaml) in ECP/DDI direcotry. The funny thing is that there is no such file on Exchange Serves in mine environment (updated version of the script that look for Exchange installation folder in registry doesn’t change the fact that file doesn’t exist).

2nd thing, problem with IMAP. Below you can find error message from Thunderbird client: (…)somemailserver:S-INBOX:ProcessCurrentURL:imap://someuser@somemailserver:993/onlinemove%3EUID%3E/INBOX%3E947873%3E/Trash: = currentUrl (…)somemailserver:S-INBOX:SendData: 21 uid move 947873 “Trash” (…)ReadNextLine [stream=1b0fb310 nb=26 needmore=0] (…)somemailserver:S-INBOX:CreateNewLineFromSocket: 21 BAD Command Error. 12

Exchange Server after update presents following capabilities for IMAP:

  • OK The Microsoft Exchange IMAP4 service is ready.
  • CAPABILITY
  • CAPABILITY IMAP4 IMAP4rev1 AUTH=PLAIN UIDPLUS MOVE CHILDREN IDLE NAMESPACE LITERAL+
  • OK CAPABILITY completed.

If I’ll use mailbox that was moved to cloud (O365) Thunderbird works without any problem. This issue appeared after applying CU6 to our servers.
