My default URL is "google.com". When I open a new tab, I want it to show only "google.com" and nothing else. Can you help me to do that? I am running MAC OSX 10.9.5.

Type about:config into your address bar, press Enter. Accept the warning.

Search for browser.newtab.url, change the value to www.google.com

Search for browser.newtabpage.enabled, change the value to False
