I was composing a long message in "write" when my cellphone fell from my t-shirt pocket and hit the keys on the left side of keyboard.

When I looked away from screen to pick up phone, the message disappeared. No error messages. No "moved to Drafts folder"

Checked Drafts Folder -- no messages in folder. Checked all other folders "Trash, Junk, Sent, etc. -- no message.

A lot of effort went into composing this important message. I would be very appreciative if someone could help me retrieve it. Thanks

If it has been in the drafts folder (through auto save) this add-on might get it. https://freeshell.de//~kaosmos/index-en.html#recDelMsg

to install http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/3_How_to_install_Add-ons_in_Thunderbird.html

Thanks for your speedy help. I was able to download the two files you recommended.

Unfortunately they are incompatible with my ThunderBird Version 31.1.2. Would you recommend that I roll back my ThunderBird to an earlier version?

there is only one file. recoverdeletedmessages-0.4.xpi

This add-on might help by disabling the compatibility checking. It work fine for me, so I must have had it installed since the days of V12.

Even with Disable program loaded and enabled, Recover program still notifies incompatible with ThunderBird Ver. 31.1.2

Also notifies incompatible with FireFox Ver. 32.03

Installs fine here in TB 31.1.2

I wonder what other compatibility settings need to be changed?

Thanks for your help. I am a non technical user. I think you are showing me what should be in my user_pref folder. I know what the folder is but I have never had the confidence to try to change/edit it on my own.
