Is there any kind of pdf the built in pdf-viewer doesn't support?

I run a website that needs to be able to show pdf-files smoothly in the built-in pdf viewer, it works fine with Chrome and Explorer but not with Firefox. It's able to show most of the pdf's (takes a little time to load) but some of the pdf-files load forever.

I've tried https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-built-pdf-viewer-and-use-another-viewer, and it works like a charm for me.

But is there any way that I can fix this on my end, so that my customers can view the pdf-files without doing anything themselves?

Thanks beforehand.

hello, the firefox html5 pdf viewer is still somewhat experimental and under very active development - you could try if the same error is occurring in the current development version, which you can download as an addon from http://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/extensions/firefox/pdf.js.xpi

in case it has the the same rendering problems, you could then file a bug report at https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/issues (a github account is necessary for it though) - please also provide a sample document where the error is apparent!

The best you can do for your customers and for Mozilla is to provide, if you are allowed too of course - the questionable PDF files and file them together with a new bug in Bugzilla > Firefox > PDF viewer
