Since updating to version 12, I found that this version was no longer a secure browser.
Whenever I opened Firefox the home page informed me to upgrade to the new version, this i did several times; to no avail. I decided to uninstall all previous Firefox programmes and reinstall. This made no difference and the 'firefox help page' informed me that the browser was no longer secure.
Following a suggestion from your troubleshooting guide I changed my home page, the warnings stopped; but most web sites would not load properly, if at all.

see your user agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.17) Gecko/20110420 Firefox/3.6.17 FBSMTWB
you must reset user agent, see in the link the "Other causes" to do that easily
